The Japanese all girls rock band BAND-MAID will make their American live performance debut at Seattle’s Sakura-Con in March 2016.
The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Miku, vocalist Saiki, guitarist Kanami, drummer Akane, and bassist Misa. They were formed in 2013 and are from Tokyo, Japan. Over the past few month, they have especially reveilved attention through their cute, authentic maid outfits combined with their impressive musical skills. Their cute side stands in contrast with the band’s aggressive hard rock sound, which they are known for.
The girls had their breackthrough with the video for “Thrill” which is part of their latest album ‘New Beginning‘. Another track “Real Existece” also reveived lots of attention. Both videos have surpassed 1 million views on YouTube.
Now, SAKURA-CON has announced they have invited them to perform at their 20th anniversary convention. The convention is presented by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association and is the oldest and most well attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest. It’s hold over three day, this year from March 25th – 27th at the Washington State Convention Center. You can expext Anime theaters, gaming, cosplay, cultural panels, dances, concerts, art contests, AMV’s, industry guests, over 100,000 square feet of exhibits hall, guests of honor, and more.
This will also be very meaningful to the band as this will be their very first live show in the States. The girls will perform a live concert, participate in a Q&A session, and sign autographs for fans during the three days. Event and registration information can be found at Sakura-Con’s website [HERE].
