Japako Music had the immense honor to be present during the concert of X-Japan at Wembley Arena in London. The event started with a bit of delay, but at the end, I can say it was worth the wait.

First, we had the premiere of the X-Japan documentary, “We Are X“, which was very interesting, I learned a lot about the story of X-Japan, not only about their carreer, but the story behind it. All the struggles and dramas that X-Japan went through. I was impressed by how much they decided to share with their fans and how deep the documentary went into their feelings. I must say that it was one of the best documentary I have ever seen about a rock band. It left the crowd with a lot of emotions but it was not the end; the concert started right at the end of this documentary, sending us on a roller coaster of feelings.

With the apparition of X-Japan on stage the crowd started to scream. From the first song, they got us totally immerged into their world, this is how amazing they are. We could see why X-Japan is considered as legend in Japan, indeed they were brilliant on stage. Performing song after song, with special effect on stage, such as fire and smoke, we went from banging our head on heavy rock song to shedding tears on beautiful ballads.

Toshi was all glittery standing proudly on stage, showing up his singing skills and bringing the crowd to sing along with him. His charisma didn’t change over the years, he is still an amazing singer with a huge presence on stage. Pata was also present and showed us that he is still surely a great guitarist. He gave us a very nice solo performance where he seemed to have a lot of fun until Heath joined him to have a nice duet between the bass and the guitar. Heath is quite the bassist too, he was able to give you the chill during his solo performance which is showing all his talent. Sugizo was added to replace Hide when X-Japan reunited. As the others, Sugizo is really impressive with a guitar, he has a really nice style and a lot of charisma, but the most impressive was when he came on stage for a solo performance with a violin ; when I heard his talent with a violin, I understood why he was chosen to be a member of the band. I must say though that the most impressive is definitely Yoshiki, his presence shines on stage, and his talent is undeniable as much with a drum than with a piano. He has a very special aura which is attractive but also a beautiful heart full of emotions. He expresses so much his feelings when he performs on stage that you can’t escape the flow of emotions that he gives you. He gives himself entirely, glowing with passion.

To be honest, I was not sure what to expect of this concert, but I was really happy to witness such a great show. I would describe this concert with 3 words : amazing, beautiful, emotional. While X-Japan gave a push to the rock scene in Japan, they also brought the entire world to look at the Japanese music culture and created one of the most popular movement within Japan, which has also attracted the occidental world. We surely want to see more of X-Japan, and hope to see them again in Europe. The support from the European fans will continue on without fail !
