GENERATIONS is a J-pop boy band based in Tokyo. The band debuted under the label LDH/Rythym Zone on the 21st of November 2012 with the single “BRAVE IT OUT“. This is the same label as non others than the great band EXILE, and they are having a lot of success since their debut. Even though you could say they are a quite new band and the members are very young, all of them have been training very hard and doing street performances for the past two years, so they are not that new in the business!
The seven boys have very differentiated positions in the band. They are all dancers, and great ones I must add, and some of them are more focused on singing too.
The members are Shirahama Alan (1993) who is not only a performer and one of the main vocals of this group but also an occasional actor. He starred in the late night drama “Sugarless the other dreams” which was on air just at the end of last year and the main theme was the single of the band. He has also been cast for the next movie of Masahiro Kondo which will begin shooting soon. He is a very charismatic singer and dancer and receives a lot of love from the fans but he had a bit of a problem when the scandal with AKB48‘s Minami Minegishi was exposed. Now everything has calmed down for both singers since their public apology. Katayose Ryota (1994) is a vocalist and performer in the band and just as the other members, he was selected during street competitions that the company made to get the final members of the band. He is a very talented and hardworking boy inspite of his young age. Nakatsuka Yuta (1993) on the other hand is specialized in dancing, and that shows in their videoclips and concerts. Kazuhara Ryuto (1992) is a vocalist and performer. He was a finalist in VBA2 for the vocalists of J Soul Brothers, impressive! Komori Hayato (1995) is a performer in the band and and along with Sano Reo (1996), he is the youngest members of the band. Sano Reo also appeared in Sugarless with his bandmate Shirahama Alan. The last member is Sekiguchi Mandy (1991) a performer in the band. He was born in New Jersey to a Japanese father and a Afro-American mother.
After the release of their first video and single “BRAVE IT OUT” they have released some other singles, the last one being “ANIMAL” to great success. It has even been chosen as the ending song for “Onegai! Ranking” for the month of January.
They are going to have concerts in great places such as Yoyogi and Osaka Dome during the month of March 2013 with special guests from their record label. In only a few months this band is getting bigger and bigger, I would dare to say that they will be in the spotlight for a very long time!
