The J-Pop singer Kana Nishino is born in March 18th, 1989 (25 years old in 2014).
Nishino studied English from an early age and went to USA twice.
She became interested in various genres of music, including : hip-hop, R&B and reggae. But she started singing Japanese folk songs.
She was dreaming to become a singer already as pre-teen but it’s in 2005, when she was 16, that her mother secretly sent a demo tape to the Miss Phoenix Audition and that she was rated the top singer entrant out of approximately 40,000 applicants. A year later in 2006, she was signed to Sony Music Entertainment (SME records).
In 2007, while preparing to be a singer, she was also studying English literature at college. At the time she met the Australian duo Nervo who gave the song I Don’t Wanna Know for use in her music project.
Nishino rewrote the song’s lyrics into Japanese and re-titled it I.
Since her debut, she had done most of the lyrics herself.
In December 2007, her official website opened and finally Nishino debuted on February 20, 2008 with the single I.
In 2009, after her first 4 singles, her music took a R&B sound with the 5th single Tokutemo featuring Wise, which was released on March 18. It is her first physical single to enter the top 50 in the Japanese Oricon single charts.
It was time for her first album Love One. to be released on June 24, 2009.
And basicly, that’s all to say about Kana Nishino‘s career. Indeed, since her 5th single (March 2009), all her releases are a hit ! And I’m not sure you like numbers and business talks. The music is to be listen, not to be talked about, right?
I’ll only add the list of her studio albums.
