2AM consists of Changmin, Seulong, Jo Kwon and Jinwoon. Their first single was “This Song” and was released on 21st July 2008. They then made a comeback with another single album, “Time For Confession”, on 19th March 2009, with the song, “Confession Of A Friend”, being the title track.
They came back in 2010 with their second album, “Even If I Die I Can’t Let You Go”, which was the title track of the album too. In March of 2010, 2AM came back with their repackaged mini album with the title song, “I Was Wrong”.
October 26th 2010 saw 2AM release their first full length album, “Saint O’Clock” with the songs, “You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls” and “Like Crazy” being the two promoted tracks.
In January 2012, they released their first Japanese single, “Never Let You Go: Shindemo Hanasanai”, which is a Japanese version of their Korean single, “Even If I Die I Can’t Let You Go”. March 2012 saw 2AM come back with their 2nd Korean mini album, “F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Way Of Love”.
April 11th saw their 2nd Japanese single album being released titled, “You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls”. September 2012 also saw their 3rd Japanese single being promoted while in October of the same year, they released a Chinese version of “I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me”.
December 5th 2012 also saw 2AM release their 4th Japanese single, “Darenimo Watasenai Yo”. 2AM’s first full length Japanese album, “Voice” was released on January 9th 2013, and included their 1st to 4th Japan singles with 4 new songs. February 2013 saw 2AM’s comeback in Korea after a year hiatus. The album was titled “One Spring Day”and was their 2nd full length album.
19th November 2013 saw the promotion and release of “Nocturne”, their first comeback in 8 months since “One Spring Day”. October 2014 saw 2AM release, “Let’s Talk”, their 1st Korean release in almost a year since “Nocturne” in November 2013. This album’s release also marks the 1st time 2AM will have released an album under JYP Entertainment, after releasing all their previous albums under Big Hit Entertainment.
In March 2015 the band revealed the termination of Seulong and Jinwoon exclusive contracts with JYP. The two singer left the agency and signed as solo artists under different labels. Changmin soon followed in August leaving JoKwon the only 2AM member still under JYP Entertainment.
Despite these sudden sad news, J.Y. Park, JYP Ent.’s CEO, assured that this won’t be 2AM disbandment but just a hiatus to let the members focus on their own projects.
2AM are a very popular band and deserve a lot of love from both new and old fans. Please don’t hesistate to love 2AM as a group and its members as soloist!
On September 22nd 2017, the last member of the group who still was under JYP Entertainment, Jo Kwon, announced the termination of his exclusive contract with the label. With Jo Kwon departure from JYP, 2AM actually ceased to exist as a group.
