N.Flying is a 4 member rock band under F.N.C Entertainment. They consist of the following members: Kwon Kwangjin (bassist), Lee Seunghyub (leader, rhythm guitarist, vocalist and rapper), Cha Hun (lead guitarist) and Kim Jaehyun (drummer and maknae).
Their name, N.Flying, stands for ‘New’ and ‘Flying’ – and you can probably piece what notion they’re putting across from this! They’re an extremely multicultural, promising group with their impressive pre-debut and debut records. They’re currently active in both Japan and South Korea. Read on below to figure out why you should stan these boys – and fast!
Even if N.Flying debuted this year in Korea (2015), they’ve been advertised quite for some time before that. Before their debut in Korea, they were active in Japan. Considering they were a band under F.N.C Entertainment, what other better way to show off your rock ability than to perform alongside big names such as CN Blue and F.T Island? That’s exactly what N.Flying did back in 2013. They performed as opening acts for both F.T Island’s (‘Replay’ Zepp Tour) and CN Blue’s (‘One More Time’ Arena Tour) concerts! Getting their name out in Japan, they also found the perfect opportunity to release their first single album titled ‘BASKET’, which soared in the Japanese charts despite their lack of promotions! In 2014, they released their second Japanese single called ‘One and Only’ which got even better feedback as the rock quartet flew up to #1 on the Oricon charts!
Prior to their Korean debut, they were still brought up to the surface in their label mates’ activities. Kwangjin is the former bassist of CN Blue and he debuted with them in 2009 but also left that year as well. He was still a trainee though, and as the years went on he began training with the members of N.Flying instead.
Seunghyub, who’s the leader of the band, was also in a sub unit with AOA’s Jimin for one of F.N.C’s projects. They teamed up together as JNJ. JNJ‘s “GOD,” is the first collaboration of FNC Entertainment’s “N Project“. The “N Project” has been established to help the artists of FNC to challenge their musical abilities through various collaborations with other artists. Seunghyub went under the alias as J.Don for these promotions also, giving N.Flying some publicity before their long awaited debut! He was also the love interest in Juniel’s “Pretty Boy”.
Many fans, especially RAINBOW fans, would be quite familiar with Jaehyun! He’s in fact Jaekyung’s younger brother! Often on social media, Jaekyung would promote her brother’s activities in Japan back in 2013 and still continues to do so now.
The band was supposed to debut in 2014, but due to Seunghyub’s knee injury, it had to be delayed until early 2015. Alas, they finally debuted on May 20th with “Awesome”, which is, literally, an awesome debut song! They released a Chinese version and music video of the song on the same day too. Their debut, “Awesome” comes with a mini album consisting of 5 songs.
As you can tell from the presentation above, this band is EXTREMELY promising. They show their full potential and support from Japan, Korea and even China, and that’s only within a couple months of debuting. They’re something completely new to the scene in terms of sound and concept, so be sure to check them out! They’re definitely one of Japako’s favourites as their diversity, multiculturalism and freshness checks off everything we stand for!
