If you’re looking for a new K-Indie band to love and add to your playlist, then we have The Solutions for you!

The Solutions debuted as a duo in 2012 under Happy Robot Records. Prior to joining forces as a group, members Park Sol (keyboard, guitar, lead vocals) and Naru (vocals, lead guitar) were soloists when they worked on a Mint Paper project called “Support Your Music.” Following the project, the two came together to form a duo.

Their self-titled debut album produced the single “Lines.” The single and album brought about comparisons to the Smashing Pumpkins, The Koxx, Oasis, The Pillows, and Soul Asylum among others. Their self-titled debut album was good enough to earn them the Mint Paper Awards 2012 – The Rookie of the Year award.

In 2014, they released Movement which showed improvements in both style and lyrics. The duo dabbled in Synth-Pop and dance tracks to show off their multiple layers. Songs like “Sounds of the Universe,” “Movements,” and “Jungle in Your Mind” flow between synth, electronic, and classic rock elements to keep listeners occupied and ready for more.

In June 2015, The Solutions made their comeback with two additional members in tow: Drummer Park Han Sol and bassist Kwon Oh Kyung. The album, No Problem, features six tracks including the lead single “Love You Dear.” The single features a mix of rock and synth as well a rocking summer vibe.

Part of The Solutions’ appeal lies in how they’re more globally appealing. Many songs are in English which helps them be relatable while helping them stand as a group that can help introduce people to K-Indie music. Since they pull their style from many different groups, they’re all at once nostalgic and fresh.
