On November 3rd, the Japanese girlsband E-Girls dropped the music video for their song ‘Go! Go! Let’s Go!’
As I am not a big fan of J-Pop bands, I first listened to the track without any expectation of liking it. But actually, I surprisingly really enjoyed it! The beat is really catchy as well as the chorus, with the guitars giving a cool rock feel to the song. Even though (in my opinion) you cannot really appreciate the members’ individual skills when there are 20 of them, all the girls sing perfectly and of course, they are also really great dancers.
The song’s theme is about letting go to simply enjoy the music together, and it is well-delivered just by the rhythm without needing to understand Japanese language.
The music video is really pleasing, as it very colorful and shows many many sides of the members. We first discover them in neo-traditionnal Japanese outfits, but also in hip-hop, vintage, schoolgirl and gothic lolita style, and there is as well a part where they seem to be in a candy world.
I don’t know if the track has a longer version, but in the video it does not really have a proper end, which is a bit disappointing and leaves us wanting more!
So for those -like me- who are skeptical about J-Pop, you could actually be surprised in a good way! Go check it out!
