The title track for History‘s fifth mini album ‘HIM’ is “Queen“, continuing with the sexy charms they displayed during their ‘Might Just Die’ promotions a slightly hip hop feel is added in the Queen music video.
The music video opens to flashes of light in time with the opening beats, this then changes to shots of the boys in hip hop clothes quickly cut with random shots of fire and the boys in various rooms. We then see the boys in the ‘hip hop’ choreography set where they begin to dance, this is intercut with shots of the boys acting angst-y in solo rooms. The set designs for these rooms are very random: a bathroom, a kitchen table, street bench and disused barber’s chair. None of the sets seem to have very much to do with the song lyrics. The choreography is split between two sets, the first is the “hip hop” set where the members are dressed casually with sand on the floor and a grimy stylised art piece as the background. The second choreography set has the members dressed freshly in suits dancing in front of an open but disused multi story building.
The members all then find puzzle pieces and come to put them together on the seat of a throne before a holographic blue light appears.
Overall, the music video is a bit messy and everywhere, with little relation to the lyrics of the song. However, the choreography is really inventive with lots of point moves and the song itself is really great. I also like the CGI that gets shown occasionally in the video that gives the members a ghostly multiple face look.
