On April 2017, the singer and songwriter IU released another music video, this time for her soft and sweet pop tune “Palette.”
In the video, IU appears to be walking at first then goes on about doing other tedious things. For example, she plays with colourful candies scattering them on a table and then later starts to dance about on a wall. The singer even starts to parody her song “Good Day” whilst wearing her iconic orange outfit and long hair.
The song itself has a sweet and soft pop sound, which nicely fits with her warm vocals. This track takes up the same concept as one of her earlier pieces titled “Twenty-Three.” Which both describes the uncertainties she had and continues to have as a result. In addition, even GD’s verse gives inspiring words saying not to be scared and reminds her that she will always be loved. Keeping it nice and sweet, although I wish he had a slower pace so it would flow better with the melody.
In the end, “Palette” reminds us that IU has grown-up and still continues to blow us away with her music. If you still have not listened to the album or watched the music video do yourself a favour and watch the video now. Don’t miss out on this bop!
