The famous Japanese heavy metal band X JAPAN unveiled the music video for their new single ‘Born To Be Free’!
“Born To Be Free” became one of X JAPAN’s most loved tracks by their fans, but as it was revealed before this is the first time the song is released as a studio recording. The song came out as a single on November 6th, but it will also be a part of X JAPAN’s upcoming studio album, which is set to be released on March 11th, 2016.
The music video for “Born To Be Free” is based on the band’s fans and it is composed out of different concert clips with X JAPAN’s performances. The band premiered the music video with Kerrang! Magazine on the day of Yoshiki’s birthday, November 20th, as a celebration.
The release of the song became a success, since already during the first week of release “Born To Be Free” hit the number one spot on the iTunes rock charts in many countries, such as France, Sweden, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Japan. The single was even added to UK rock powerhouse Planet Rock’s playlist. The band was impressed with the fans’ response, and the leader Yoshiki commented, “X JAPAN fans are the best in the world. We hope this video shows that we appreciate all their love and support”.
X JAPAN’s leader Yoshiki has recently attended the 11th annual Classic Rock Awards at The Roundhouse in London, where he performed “Bohemian Rhapsody” as a tribute to Queen along with X JAPAN‘s “Without You” and his song “Art of Life”. Yoshiki became the first Japanese artist to perform on the award show’s stage live.
